Brits miss out on Euromillons jackpot

Friday's Euromillions draw, which came to a staggering £121,722,017 after six weeks of accumulation, led to a a temporary technical glitch due to the unprecedented demand for last-minute tickets. The fault meant that many players were unable to use their online accounts to enter the draw, which meant that they missed out on the potential to win a stake of the gargantuan jackpot.

A statement from organisers Camelot read:
"This was due to an issue with the response times from the online banking systems, which meant some transactions were unable to be completed.Any players who already had funds in their account would have been unaffected. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Those Brits that did manage to play however were left disappointed, as the prize was shared by two European players, one in Belgium and one in Portugal.

The winning EuroMillions numbers were 12, 21, 06, 33, 27; the EuroMillions Lucky Star numbers were 7 and 3.
