EuroMillions reaches record £117millionrollover tonight
The National Lottery Euromillions draw has reached a record £117million, which could be won tonight after being accumulated over a six week rollover period.
If one lucky person wins the entire jackpot, it will be the biggest win the UK has ever seen, and would also instantly make the lucky recipient the 570th richest person in Britain; making them richer than David Bowie, Rod Stewart and Phil Collins on the Sunday Times Rich List.
The current highest EuroMillions win stands at £113,229,891, which was won by one singular person in Spain in 2009. Since June 2009, the EuroMillions jackpot has been won 14 times by residents of the UK, including the anonymous person who won £113million last year – Britain's biggest ever lottery win.
Newsagents are understandably experiencing a frenzy of last-minute buys today, as hopefuls hurriedly stock up on tickets in the hope that they will scoop the prize.
The draw will take place at 11:35pm on BBC1 tonight.
