William Hill introduce Budget Specials
George Osbourne’s budget was met with a surprising amount of satisfaction, causing bookies to offer a series of new budget specials.
William Hill have odds of 8/15 that George Osbourne will deliver at least another three budgets to the house; there are odds of 9/4 that he will abolish the 50% tax rate in 2012 and 6/4 that he will unfortunately increase Fuel Tax next year too.
They also have more optimistic markets, which include whether Osbourne will become the next leader of the Conservative party, which has odds of 8/1, and 20/1 that he will become the next Prime Minister.
There are also Labour party related markets, which include who the next Labour leader will be. Some of the names on the list include Yvette Cooper (3/1), David Milliband (6/1), Ed Balls (14/1), with slightly more outside odds being offered for ex-Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, who are both at 250/1.
William Hill also have odds of 5/1 on Ed Milliband resigning as leader of the Labour party before the end of 2011.
