Poker player’s penny auction site takes off
After coming second in the European poker World Series for £1 million, John Tabatabai’s new website is really taking off.
Bidibot.com works by players bidding for online poker tournament packages, poker or casino chips and credit. Bids are fixed at $0.01 and there is a five minute countdown timer. Each time someone makes a bid, the timer is increased by thirty seconds and the last person to bid wins the auction.
Essentially, it’s possible to win $200 of poker chips for as little as $0.01. Tabatabai describes his site as “The eBay of poker rooms”, as it allows players a new way to access discount goods and promotions in poker.
The site already boasts big name partners such as Betfair, PokerStars and 888poker, and he is now looking to expand into other markets, having recently signed a deal with Play.com.
