Simon Cowell plans £1 million live TV gamble

The paper say that the X-Factor creator is working on a lottery-style show for ITV that will come live from Wembley Arena, with 17,000 potential contestants paying around £1 each for a ticket. Each participant will be entered into a draw for the chance to compete in various challenges and win up to £1 million. Cowell is said to have hired Ant and Dec for presenting duties for the show, which has been codenamed ‘Roulette’.
An unnamed source told the paper: “It is a big gamble for Simon as it could be telly's biggest ever turkey if it goes wrong. This will be one of the most ambitious TV shows ever staged. Details are under wraps for now but the idea is that people will pay a small price - say £1 - to get a ticket which will give them a chance of taking part.”
