Sam Trickett is the man to watch at the WPT Paris National Series
The final table at the WPT Paris National Series Event has been set, and sitting on the table is Sam Trickett, the new big name in poker. Joining him is Parisian and chip leader, Benjamin Pollak and in second place is PartyPoker.com German online qualifier Ingo Paulus. Trickett is short-stacked but certainly not to be ruled out just yet.
He won the Party Poker World Open last year and, at the Aussie millions last month, won the $100,000 buy-in tournament and came second place at the $250,000 buy-in winning $1.5 million and $1.4million respectively.
Poker commentator Jesse May has seen his star rise. “Right now Sam is the scariest poker player out there. There is nobody in the world whose heart doesn’t jump when he sits down.”
At the WPT National Series Paris, he was at the start of the fourth day second in chips but had his stack decimated as he entered the final table, with just 200,000 of his starting 849,000 remaining. We will see how it pans out as play continues Tuesday 15th at 3pm local time.
They play for a top prize of €243,830 and the chip counts are as follows:
1. Benjamin Pollak – 1,251,000
2. Ingo Paulus – 983,000
3. Tobias Wagner – 748,000
4. Natalia Nikitina – 688,000
