Brit Awards Odds announced
As the Brit awards are looming, bookies are finalising the odds for the big night. The ceremony takes place on 15 February, so there’s still time for punters to place their bets.
Current X-Factor winner Matt Cardle is up for the Best British Single award for his cover of Biffy Clyro’s When We Collide; despite his X-Factor success however, Paddy Power are giving him odds of just 33/1 to scoop the prize. Another X-Factor star to be nominated for the same category is Cheryl Cole, who has odds of 16/1 to take home the accolade for her single Parachute.
Matt and Cheryl will have to beat competition from The Wanted and Tinie Tempah, who have slightly better odds for their singles; The Wanted’s All Time Low is at 4/5, and Tinie Tempah’s Pass Out is at 5/2. However, as the odds keep changing, this year’s winners are anyone’s guess.
Other categories include Best British Group, where Take that and Mumford and Sons seem to be the frontrunners, with odds of just 1/4 for Take That. If Mumford and Sons don’t scoop the Best British Group trophy (their odds are currently at 9/4), the odds for them receiving the Best British Album award look promising; they are currently the favourites for the award with odds of 4/9 from Coral for their Sigh No More album, followed closely by Plan B’s The Defamation of Strickland Banks at 5/2.
The awards are broadcast live on ITV on Tuesday 15 February.
