Girls Gone Wild Creator in Vegas Debt

3/2/2011
Joe Francis, the founder of Girls Gone Wild, is facing a $2.5 million debt after allegedly signing gambling markers at the Wynn Casino in 2007. Gambling markers are commonly used in Vegas and essentially act as IOUs to the casino and Francis is said to have signed them during his visits to the casino without being able to pay them.

Francis, who made a fortune when he produced the soft porn films Girls Gone Wild, has claimed that he didn’t sign the markers and that the casino had tried to cash them 15 months after the alleged date. Indeed, Dave Houston, representing Francis, said that the full details of the debt had not been disclosed to his client and the amount and methods of collection by the casino were being disputed by Francis.

The legal battle with the Wynn Casino is just another trip to the courthouse for Francis as he is embroiled in another dispute, this time surrounding the identities of two underage girls who appeared in one of his videos. The pair are now claiming for damages sustained after the video were released.
