World Series of Poker 2011 schedule unveiled
The schedule for the World Series of Poker 2011 has been announced.
The 42nd edition of the series is to feature 58 events, the first of which – a new $25,000 heads-up no-limit hold'em tournament – starts on 31 May at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The $10,000 no-limit hold’em Main Event starts on 7 July and runs for twelve days until the final table is confirmed. It then returns in November for its conclusion, known as the November Nine.
“Something for everyone is the best way to describe the WSOP 2011 schedule,” said tournament director Jack Effel. “It's staggering to think that last year alone the WSOP hosted nine of the 17 largest tournaments in poker history. We had 44 events produce more than a one million dollar prize pool so we can't wait to get at it again and offer players at all levels the best poker action on the planet.”
