$12.8 million won from $6 on Vegas slot

25/1/2011
A woman trying her luck on a Las Vegas slot machine won nearly $12.8 million, which roughly translates to £8.03 million. The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, was playing on a new slot called Megabucks at the Aria Resort and Casino in the heart of Sin City.

The new multi-millionaire told ABC's 13 Action News that she was in Vegas to celebrate her niece’s birthday, and decided to play on the machine after spotting it whilst on the way back to her hotel room.

After putting only $6 in the machine, she was naturally more than surprised when the symbols lined up to signal her massive win. The aunt claimed that she initially thought the machine was broken when all the symbols appeared before her, until she was congratulated by her niece.

The name Megabucks has proven to be very lucky, as the largest ever slot jackpot was won on a machine of the same name, rewarding the lucky winner with a staggering $39 million prize back in 2003.
