EPAs look promising for UK poker pros
2010 was a good year for the UK’s poker stars as they have continued to shine in European events. The players’ efforts are now being recognised with many nominations cropping up for the tenth annual European Poker Awards, scheduled to take place in Paris next month.
EPT San Remo champion Liv Boeree is the first female player to be nominated for the Outstanding Tournament Performance honour, but faces stiff competition for the title from Jake Cody, James Bord, Tobias Reinkemeier, Filippo Candio and David Vamplew. She is also up for Europe’s Leading Lady award where she will compete against Norwegian poker player Annette Obrestad.
The Lifetime Achievement Award will be one of the most coveted awards of the evening, while another accolade that will fill the recipient with a great amount of pride is the Rob Gardner Memorial Award to honour the Poker Personality of 2011, with the likes of Jesse May, Tony G and Anthony Holden going up against each other to win it.
