Pacquiao set for Mosley battle
Manny Pacquiao is to defend his WBO welterweight title against Shane Mosley.
The Filipino fighter will face American Mosley on 7 May, despite having previously stated his desire to meet Juan Manuel Marquez or Andre Berto. However, promoter Bob Arum has said that Mosley is “the best draw of the three and it would do the best business”.
Pacquaio has been defeated only three times in a 57-fight professional career while Mosley, known as ‘Sugar Shane’, has lost six times in 54 contests. His last bout was a draw with Sergio Mora back in September, while Pacquaio’s most recent fight saw him secure a brutal victory over Antonio Margarito to claim the vacant vacant WBC light-middleweight title.
"I think it's a good fight. I feel that Shane is one of the toughest guys left out there right now. It's a difficult fight because Shane has speed and power," added Arum.
