Rafa Benitez gets Inter Milan boot
Rafa Benitez has been sacked as Inter Milan manager.
It is understood that the Spaniard’s contract was terminated on Tuesday, with official confirmation expected on Wednesday. It has been suggested that an official announcement is being delayed until a financial settlement has been agreed.
Former Liverpool boss Benitez has had an unhappy six-month spell at the San Siro, despite leading the side to success in the recent Club World Championship. Inter sit seventh in Serie A, 13 points behind leaders AC Milan, albeit with two games in hand, having managed just six league wins all season.
The attentions of the betting world have already turned to where Benitez might go next, with Sky Bet offering odds of 4/6 that the 50-year-old heads for Spain’s Primera Liga. A price of 4/1 is available on him returning to the Premier League, while 6/1 is offered on an Asian club being his next destination.
