New Las Vegas casino opens this week
The Cosmopolitan, located on the famous Las Vegas Strip, is set to open tomorrow, and will be the only hotel-casino to open this year. It is said to be opening in stages, and aims to fully open its doors in July 2011.
The new 100,000-square-foot casino will increase the overall capacity in Las Vegas by 1.5 percent, featuring 83 table games, and a staggering 1,474 slot machines. The Cosmopolitan casino has stunning views of the Strip, which can be seen from an open balcony.
The hotel will feature a total of 800 hotel rooms, a spa and fitness facility, a theatre, three pools and 150,000 square feet of conference space.
The Cosmopolitan also features 36,000 square feet of high-end shops, including nine unique brands exclusive to them. Jay Z and Coldplay will be performing at a concert for the New Year’s Eve party the Cosmopolitan is throwing; tickets cost $5,600 and include a three-night stay, access to the concert and dinner for two.
The establishment has been backed by Deutsche Bank AG, and spokesperson John Gallagher said: “Like any prudent investor, we will continue to evaluate all of our options. We are extremely pleased with the final result."
