Arsenal Red Hot Favourites to Progress But Unlikely to Top Group
Premier League leaders Arsenal have one game to save their UEFA Champions League campaign tonight as they entertain Partizan Belgrade at the Emirates, and the good news is that the Gunners have been named overwhelming favourites.
However, that vote of confidence must be tempered with the fact that current Group H leaders Shakhtar Donetsk are similarly favoured to beat Portuguese side Braga in the other gaming meaning that Arsenal are likely to finish as group runners-up.
This will mean that Arsenal will be in the frame to face a dangerous selection of group winners that includes Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, whereas winning the group could have seen them play a powerhouse like FC Copenhagen.
In terms of betting odds, Bet365 have named the North London side as 1/12 favourites against a Partizan team that currently sit bottom of Group H and have only scored one goal all competition – with the visitors naturally priced at a huge 25/1.
Unfortunately for Arsene Wenger’s men though, Shakhtar are priced as tightly as 4/7 to beat Braga in the Ukraine, with the team’s formidable home form making them huge favourites over the visitors who are 11/2 shots. A draw – which would not be enough to see an Arsenal win put them ahead of Shakhtar – comes in at 11/4.
