Bookies pull the plug on Kate’s dress designer betting
Reality television may have taken the focus away from the Royal Wedding this week, but it is still the most popular novelty bet market to wager on.
Kate Middleton’s dress has been a huge matter of debate from the minute the engagement was announced. Paddy Power, however, have stopped taking bets for who will design it, as one designer is almost certain to have landed the role already. Bruce Oldfield, a British designer who worked with Princess Diana for 10 years, is the firm favourite to dress the bride. He won an OBE for his contribution to fashion in the nineties, so the soon-to-be Mrs Wills is in safe hands.
There are still 13 other markets to bet on, including some more dress-related ones, such as the length of the train and the colour of the gown. Other bets also include who the best man and maid of honour will be, what colour hat the Queen will wear and many more; some of which will be gradually revealed in due course, but some will be saved exclusively for the big day, meaning there is still plenty of time to place bets.
