Online Poker TV to Hit Canada
The Canadian poker community is about to get a new source of entertainment in the coming months as national poker entertainments company, HeadsUp Entertainment International, are set to launch CandianPokerPlayer.tv.
The online poker channel is set to launch next month and will start off their schedule with over 20 hours of programming from some of Canada’s biggest poker tournaments, featuring the game’s biggest names including: Gavin Smith, Joe Hachem, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Laak and Huck Seed. Some of the shows to be featured on the new poker channel will be, the Stampede Classic in Calgary, classic heads-up clashes between “Yukon” Brad Booth and Huck Seed as well as Roger Sarna and Joe Hachem in the Canadian Open Poker Championships. The channel will also air the documentary showcasing the Canadian Poker Tour’s Invitational Finals filmed in the Dominican Republic.
Leading online casino and poker room 888.com is the first major online operators to sponsors the site and will host a range of commercials and offers exclusive to the site throughout the next few months. CEO of HeadsUp, Kelly Kellner, is optimistic about the future of the new online poker channel and believes the new outlet will spawn a new era in the way poker is promoted in Canada: “We believe we will see changes in the way sponsors react to their customers and having the ability to reach large scale audiences with on-the-spot promotions. I am excited to be able to deliver a medium for innovation of content delivery.”
