Las Vegas: MGM-Mirage’s CityCentre Finally Opens
MGM-Mirage's CityCentre is set to be one of the most spectacular yet risky ventures in the history of Vegas. The massive complex comprises of four towering hotels, a casino, a high-end shopping centre and 42 restaurants and bars. The $8.5 billion mega structure will take pride of place on the Vegas strip and with over 18-million-square-foot of space it will certainly be a standout landmark.
Aria Hotel and Casino is the main focus of the new of the CityCentre complex and is tipped to become one of the hottest gambling spots not only in Vegas but the world.
The casino will finally open its doors after years of planning and construction to the public on Thursday. All reports indicate that the soft opening went extremely well with punters and press alike giving the venue rave reviews. Indeed, the preparation that has gone into the project has been massive with much of the hi-tech features needing extensive testing.
Add to that the logistics of vacuuming all the escalators, making each of the 4,210 beds, watering 182,000 plants, counting $117 million in poker chips and the task becomes a monstrous one.
In a time when many Vegas casinos are struggling, this new complex will be looking to thrive and bring a much needed boost to the gambling economy in general.
