Body of London Poker Player John Regan found in London Canal
Poker player John Regan who went missing on November 19th after leaving a pub in Camden, North London has been found dead in canal after frantic searches by his family, friends and the media.
His disappearance, which was described as completely out of character for John sparked a massive search which bought together the poker community and had its profile raised further by drawing attention of a number of celebrities including David Mitchell from Peep Show and TV presenter Claudia Winkleman.
Over 2600 members joined the Facebook group to join the hunt for John and a special web address findjohn.co.uk was setup within days of him going missing.
Reports from Police in London who are investigating the case are not treating the incident as suspicious at this time.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Although we await formal identification, we are satisfied that the deceased is 30-year-old John Regan of Chalcott Road."
Poker Pros have been leaving their condolences on a special Facebook group that has been setup. Victoria Coren posted “I’m afraid it is the most terrible news about John Regan. Thank you all so much for all the immediate help and kind concern.”
