Casino Rip award prize to short film titled “The Domino Effect”
A short film by budding filmmaker ‘Scamster9T9’ has been announced as the October prizewinner of CasinoRip.com’s Dominoes, Camera, Action! YouTube competition. He wins £500 after his entry, titled ‘The Domino Effect’ and featuring a cast of student friends, was judged to be the best of an impressive list of entries during the month. It will now be considered for the January’s Grand Prize, where the winning film overall will be used as a televised advert to promote the traditional game of Dominoes.
The competition has been growing in popularity since its launch at the start of September and CasinoRip expect plenty more entertaining films to be submitted before the close of the competition in January. Entries must be between one minute and 90 seconds and feature or be themed on the game of dominoes. Submissions before the end of the month will be eligible for November’s £500 prize as well as the grand prize of a TV screening plus a laptop and video-editing suite. The panel of judges will choose the best film overall at the end of January, before the winning filmmaker is announced in February.
“We are very pleased with the high quality of entries so far, although it did make picking a winner for October a very tough decision,” said CasinoRip.com chief executive Kevin Dale. “It’s great to see so many are taking an interest in the competition and in turn helping to support the game of dominoes. We’re looking forward to watching November’s new entries and awarding more prizes to more impressive short films.”
