Online Casino Releases 2010 World Series Odds
With the New York Yankees having barely finished celebrating clinching the 2009 World Series title, online casino and sportsbook Bodog.com have already released odds on who will capture baseball’s ultimate prize next year.
Unsurprisingly, it is the Yankees themselves – who defeated the Philadelphia Phillies to win this season’s title – who are the favourites to triumph again at odds of 10/3, but they are closely followed by American League East rivals the Boston Red Sox at 6/1.
Despite losing the World Series final last week, the Phillies still weigh in at a healthy 8/1 to go one better next year, with the LA Dodgers and LA Angels not far behind at 10/1 and 12/1 respectively. Also available at 12/1 are the St Louis Cardinals, with the Colorado Rockies also tipped for a decent run at the title by Bodog at odds of 14/1.
In the next tier down, several clubs who are expected to build on mixed seasons last year are the San Francisco Giants (16/1), the Chicago Cubs (20/1) and the Detroit Tigers (20/1). Just behind them are the slightly more speculative options of the Atlanta Braves, Florida Marlins, Minnesota Twins, New York Mets, Tampa Bay Rays and the Texas Rangers, who all come in at a prohibitive but potentially lucrative 25/1.
The team with the worst record last season, the Washington Nationals, have fittingly been installed as the longest-priced franchise in the league at a staggering 150/1.
