Online Poker Giant Full Tilt tournament FTOPS underway
FullTilt’s flagship tournament series kicked off yesterday with a staggering 46594 players crowding the tournament lobby with the $200 buy-in ready to battle it out for a $1 million guaranteed prize pool. Among the players lining up to take a shot at the $166,000 first place prize and a customised avatar were online stars: Bryan “badbeatninja” Devonshire (who finished in 5th place), Danny “THE_D_RY” Ryan and Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy. The highest finishing FullTilt was David Pham who managed to navigate his way through the crowds and finish a respectable 124TH place.
The $830 he took home probably won’t mean much to a man who’s won over $8 million playing poker across the world but a profit is a profit at the end of the day. One FullTilt pro who didn’t quite justify his red status on this occasion was Michael Craig. The writer/ poker player looked as though he was in a race to be the first guy out. If, indeed, that was his goal he failed as was in fact the second player out of the tournament.
Overall the first tournament of the series has been massive success and is a positive sign that the series will provide some more top notch poker action for the expectant railbirds. The next event kicks off tonight with the main event pencilled in for Sunday 15th November so if you want to get in on the act head on over to FullTilt poker now.
