BoylePoker Sells Out 1,271 Seats For International Poker Open (IPO)
Online poker site, BoylePoker.com, has confirmed that 1,271 seats have been sold for its upcoming International Poker Open (IPO) event in Dublin in October.
The $250 3-day tournament takes place between October 16th and 18th at Dublin’s Regency Hotel and organisers are hoping that the total number of players reached will smash last year’s record of 1,300.
If a target of 1,347 players is attained, it will make the IPO the biggest tournament ever to be played outside the United States. $25,000 will be added by BoylePoker to the final prize pool.
Despite all the direct buy-in spaces having been snapped up, there are still seats up for grabs via online qualification at BoylePoker.com, with satellites starting at $5.50.
The 2009 event will see a VIP Clubs points promotion in place, with players who’ve accumulated enough VIP Club points online able to increase their starting stack at the tournament from 8,000 to 10,000.
In 2008 Irishman Ruairi Coy came up trumps to take home the €37,530 first prize.
