European Poker Tour (EPT) Next Stop London Poker Festival
The next event on the European Poker Tour (EPT) calendar will be London, the event is due to start on October 2nd and to finish on October 7th. There will be a maximum field of 800 at the start of the tournament, along with a buy in fee of £5000, the eventual winner of the London EPT event could finish up as a millionaire.
PokerStars looks like they will be sending in many of their biggest names in the industry to the event, which will be held in the Hilton’s Metropole Hotel. We will be seeing the a few of the ex-World Champions like Peter Eastgate, Joe Hachem, Chris Moneymaker and Greg Raymer from Team PokerStars, they will be gracing us with their presence and also try to take home the top prize.
PokerStars have already created a mini tournament series around the EPT event, they have called it the EPT London Poker Festival, which is ready to commence on September 30. There will be high roller events with a £20,000 buy in, and there will be around 15 different poker tournaments that will be played with the buy ins ranging from £200+£20 Ladies Only Event to the £20.000+£500 High Roller event. The High Roller event was won by the young American poker player Jason Mercier last year.
Team PokerStars will not have an easy run in the events in London, as Full Tilt will also want a piece of the action and their poker pro’s line up will surely not be weak. Gus Hansen, John Juanda and Phil Ivey could be expected at the events to make sure that PokerStars pros are not the only ones that will be get all the media’s attention. You can expect a few of the other pros at the London event, as I am sure they to want a piece of the action.
Players that can’t be part of the events but want to try and win some cash will be able to play at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino, which is not far from the event. The casino will have around 28 cash tables hosted during the festival and will be ready for players to sit and play.
