Matt Le Tissier will not face charges of match fixing
It has been released today that former Southampton football star, Matt Le Tissier, will not face charges after telling in his autobiography how he, a team-mate and friends tried to carry out a betting scam during a game against Wimbledon in 1995.
An investigation took place after the media jumped on Matt Le Tissiers confession in his autobiography of attempting to put the ball out of play during the first minute of a game he was playing in for Southampton against Wimbledon. In his attempts to make the ball go out to touch but yet not make it look suspicious as to what he was doing the ball was kept in play and the scam neither loss nor made the player any money.
The FA and the Police were both involved but after discussing the matter with the Crown Prosecution Service the investigation has been dropped today as it would not be in the public’s interest.
