Team PokerStars Pros Shortlisted For Poker Hall of Fame
With members of the Poker Hall of Fame voting committee currently considering who to bestow with one of poker’s greatest accolades, PokerStars.com can celebrate three of their Team Pros making the nine-man shortlist.
Team PokerStars Pro members Barry Greenstein, Tom McEvoy and “Kid Poker” Daniel Negreanu have all been nominated to receive the prestigious award, which honours players who have made a game-changing contribution to the world of poker.
The panel of judges will consider the relative merits of the PokerStars trio against fellow players Dan Harrington, Phil Ivey, Men Nguyen, Scotty Nguyen Erik Seidel and Mike Sexton, with the winning inductees being honoured at a special ceremony during the World Series of Poker final table in November.
Among the factors that the panel will consider when appointing their Poker Hall of Famers are whether they nominee has played against acknowledged top opposition, whether they have played for the highest stakes, whether they have played consistently well and whether they have showed longevity and stood the test of time.
Certainly, after running these criteria over the nine poker superstars shortlisted for the award, it looks as though the judges will have a major selection headache on their hands over the coming few weeks.
