Matchroom Sport managing director Eddie Hearn said: “We have been looking at creating a heads-up event for a while now and I’m excited that we have the formula just right. Shows such as the NBC Heads-Up Championship have attracted huge ratings and we expect this event to continue that trend. There will be a plethora of poker talent gathering in London in October and the names that have already committed look to provide a breathtaking line up.”
PKR managing director Simon Prodger added: “We are excited to work with Matchroom Sport and put Heads-Up poker on the European TV map. The line up is already one of the strongest fields ever seen in the UK and we are offering a unique opportunity for PKR qualifiers to test themselves against the world’s best players.”
