Frazer to Raise Party Poker Profile
British poker pro Ian “The Raiser” Frazer has officially been unveiled as the first of several PartyPoker.com sponsored players as the site bids to form a grassroots team to raise its profile in the live arena.
Ian will effectively be the first cog in a new marketing strategy for the online poker giants, who had previously avoided sponsoring players with the exception of site ambassador Mike Sexton, and the 50-year-old is set to be joined by a host of big-name players over the coming months as Party Poker begin to build their roster.
When appointing new members to their grassroots team, PartyPoker.com will place an emphasis on VIP players and those with a strong loyalty to the site as well as those with historic links to PartyPoker.com. Frazer of course fulfils these criterion, having began his online career at the site and finished on the final table of five of its offline events in recent years.
“I am delighted to have got a deal with PartyPoker.com,” explained Frazer. “I have been involved with Party since the early Poker Den days, so it is a deal that is based on a strong relationship over a number of years and I'm looking forward to finding out who will join me.”
