Brett Favre back in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings
Legendary NFL player Brett Favre is set to continue his illustrious career at the Minnesota Vikings this season. The hugely popular quarterback originally decided to retire in 2008 after a 16-season spell with the Green Bay Packers, before reversing his decision and playing for the New York Jets last season.
Favre, a three-time winner of the NFL Most Valuable Player vote, has now come out of retirement a second time and is excited about the opportunity of getting back among the action. He will wear his trademark No. 4 jersey in the Vikings purple this term.
"From ownership, to coaching, to the players, it is evident that everyone in the Vikings organisation is committed to bringing the fans of Minnesota a championship.
"I am eager to join my new team-mates and get to work towards that goal," said Favre.
Favre is the all-time leading NFL scorer in touchdowns (464), completions (5,720), attempts (9,281), yards (65,127), wins (169) and interceptions (310).
