FTOPS XIII Main Event: “Poligraph” Passes the Test to Win
Just moments ago, “Poligraph” won the flagship event in the Full Tilt Online Poker Series (FTOPS) after outlasting a field of 5,306 players.
The tournament, which was a $500+35 buy-in No Limit Hold’em tournament, saw another deep run November Nine final tablist James Akenhead. The young Brit has made it to the final nine of the World Series Main Event and his 96th place finish in the FTOPS XIII Main Event demonstrates that he’s a player in fine form.
However, the main story was of course the huge $453,633 that Poligraph took home for the win. The final table saw ““Kamdini”” arrive with the chip lead, his 9,906,412 slightly ahead of “Slick Nittany” on 8,654,213. However, Slick Nittany’s stay at the final table was cut short after losing a massive race when their QQ failed to hold against the AKs of “TheFatFISH” – well-respected online pro James Obst - eliminating Slick in 8th place and putting “TheFatFISH” in the chip lead.
James Obst’s tournament came to an end after a big bluff went horribly wrong for the pro, and as more players fell it was eventually left to “Poligraph” and “Inorriisss” to battle it out.
The heads-up battle transpirted to be between the least and most active players at the final table, with “Inorriisss” having effectively flown under the radar to land his top two finish. The 5-to-1 chip lead was too much for him to overcome and despite a resilient effort, he eventually had to settle for the $315,707 second-prize after his A6 lost to Poligraph’s QJ.
