NFL ban Donte Stallworth after drink driving death
Donte Stallworth has been suspending from playing in the entire NFL 2009 season for his team the Cleveland Browns after driving under the influence of alcohol and killing a pedestrian.
Roger Goodell, NFL Commissioner told Stallworth that he would be banned for breaking NFL substance abuse polices. The incident took place in March when Stallworth had been drinking at a bar on Miami Beach then got behind the wheel of his Bentley and subsequently killed a 59 year old construction worker.
Stallworth was handed 30 days in jail, 2 years house arrest and community service time – he is also paid an undisclosed sum to the family of the deceased.
He cannot take part in any team activities until February 2010 when he can rejoin the Browns.
