Poker Starlet Liv Boeree Joins Ultimate Bet
UltimateBet have announced that UK-based poker pro Liv Boeree will join big-name pros Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke as one of the site’s sponsored players after making the switch from their sister site, Absolute Poker.
Although perhaps not as familiar in the US as her fellow UltimateBet teammates, Boeree has been carving out a fierce reputation for herself on the UK and European poker circuits over the past two years and recently scored some solid cashes Stateside in the World Poker Tour and the World Series of Poker.
Her continued success at the tables – coupled with her undeniable aesthetic charms – prompted UltimateBet to add Boeree to their roster of pros, and the former astrophysics student recently spoke of her delight at being able to work alongside two of her poker idols.
“It’s an honor to play with the two people who helped launch my poker career,” said Boeree. “Annie and Phil are two of my favorite players so to sit on the same team as them is a bit of a surreal experience but one I’m definitely proud of.”
Boeree is no stranger to working with the UltimateBet pros, however, having received one-on-one tuition from Duke after signing up with Absolute Poker. The coaching certainly had an immediate impact on Boeree, who won a tournament at Caesar’s Palace just two days later and went on to win the Ladbrokes European Ladies Championship a couple of months afterwards.
