Red Sox and Yankees joint faves for World Series
As the Major League Baseball season is now at roughly its halfway point, it’s time for a look at the odds for the rest of the campaign in all the various regional leagues.

In the American League East, the bookies believe Boston Red Sox are likely to win – they’re priced at 11/10, with the Yankees just behind at 13/8 and the Tampa Bay Rays at 15/2. Over in the American League West the Los Angeles Angels are way out in front at 8/13, trailed by the Texas Rangers at 2/1.
Over in the National League, the overall favourites are the Los Angeles Dodgers at 5/2. In the regions, the National League Central betting is headed by St Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs (both 2/1), followed by Milwaukee Brewers at 10/3.
The Philadelphia Phillies are National League East favourites at 8/11, with the Florida Marlins some way behind at 7/2. And in the National League West it’s a shoe-in for the Dodgers at 1/20. If you’re a brave man you can back the San Francisco Giants at 13/1.
As for the odds for the World Series, the Red Sox and the Yankees are current top dogs at 4/1 a piece. The Dodgers are placed third at 11/2 before you start getting into long shots including the Phillies (14/1), the Angels (14/1) and the Cubs (18/1).
