Online gambling bank specialist Ivobank signs NordicBet merchant deal
Ivobank, the specialist gaming space bank, this week announced that they had signed up NordicBet, another prominent Scandinavian gaming company, as a new merchant.
As a result of the agreement, Norway's top internet-based gaming site NordicBet will immediately offer Ivobank’s secure online payment services to its Norwegian customers.
The partnership comes as new regulations in Norway prohibit credit card payments or transfers to non-state gaming sites.
As an incentive to open and deposit in a new account, Ivobank is offering customers a bonus of up to NOK 200 when they make their first transaction through NordicBet.
Per Hellberg, chief executive of Nordic Gaming Group, said: "Ivobank is a great solution for our Norwegian customers, who are understandably worried about security and discretion. Our message is that the new laws don't mean an end to online gaming in Norway”.
Neil Caldwell, director of business development at Ivobank, said: “NordicBet is a terrific brand and signing them up as a merchant reinforces Ivobank’s commitment to working with the very best partners in gaming. I’m certain that NordicBet’s players will see the value and benefits of becoming Ivobank customers from the moment they apply for a new account”.
NordicBet was established in 2002 and targets the Norwegian, Danish, Swedish and Finnish markets, while Ivobank launched in 2008 as a specialist online bank designed with the gaming industry in mind. Since then the bank has established itself as the only FSA regulated bank to cater specifically for the needs of the online gaming industry.
