Brock Parker Bags Second WSOP Bracelet in a week at the Rio Las Vegas
The number of bracelets won by bearded poker players rose by a factor of 1 yesterday as Brock Parker managed the incredible feat of winning his 2nd bracelet in the space of a week.
Parker, having despatched Daniel Negreanu heads-up in EVENT 19, the $2,500 Six-Handed Limit event, made it two wins with a bracelet in another $2,500 Six-Handed event, this time No Limit. Joe Serock was on the receiving end this time, Parker’s Q-Q tripping up on the river to nail the title against Serock’s 10-10. Parker took away $552,745 for his troubles, with Serock taking $341,783.
1,068 players had stumped up the entry money for this 3-day event, further building on the encouraging numbers that the WSOP has attracted so far.
Meanwhile, Daniel Negreanu was busy making another final table, this time in the $10,000 World Championship Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better. Kid Poker battled hard at a final table that also featured Annie Duke and Scott Clements, before busting in 4th place for $130,401. The title went to Daniel Alaei.
