Celebs turn out for charity poker Ante up for Africa in Monaco
The Ante Up for Africa European celebrity charity poker tournament in Monaco setup by online poker giant PokerStars took place last night. The event was awash with stars from Europe and America to mark the start of the European Poker Tour (EPT) Grand Final. The Ante Up for Africa event is to raise money to aid crisis-torn Darfur.
With a 4,000 Euro buy-in for the no limit hold’em event held in the glamorous Monte Carlo attracted stars and professional poker players from around the globe.
Daniel Negreanu, Joe Hachem and Vanessa Rousso were flying the flag for the poker professionals along with an array of sports stars come poker players which included footballer Teddy Sheringham, Zara Phillips and Rugby ace Paul Sampson along with TV presenter girlfriend Kirsty Gallacher.
Also in attendance was rapper Nelly, Christina Milian and actor Jason Lewis put their support behind the event. The EPT Monte Carlo kicked off today and is set to reach its climax on Sunday.
