iPoker’s ECOOP Series Set For Spring Return
The iPoker Network’s European Championship of Online Poker is set to return for a fourth series next month as Titan Poker plays host to the two-week poker festival from 25 May.
ECOOP IV will feature 14 individual events in which a combined total of $4.55 million will be battled over by some of online poker’s biggest and brightest stars. The semi-annual event kicked off in November 2007 and the 2009 Championships are testament to the growing popularity of ECOOP among the online poker community, with the prize pool now over $2 million larger than it was in its debut year.
The main event at this year’s Championships will commence on 7 June, with players ponying up $1,500 + $80 in a bid to get their hands on a share of the staggering $1.5 million guaranteed prize pool. Last year’s main event saw “Intruder123” outlast 1,283 runners to take home $315,000 first prize and with a similarly juicy pay-out expected this time out, there will be no shortage of players gunning for the defending champion’s title.
ECOOP IV will also offer players the chance to show off their skills in a variety of different games including the increasingly popular pot limit Omaha, Omaha hi/lo and seven-card stud, but the series’ traditional curtain-raiser will remain the $200 + $15 NLHE tournament with a $250,000 guarantee.
Online satellites for ECOOP IV are currently running on Titan Poker and across the iPoker network.
