Getting Paid.

Getting paid by an online casino is often a bit more interesting than you would like.

Virtually all online casinos today run fair games, and as the industry moves toward better self regulation, both the odds and the fairness of the games are continuing to improve.

One of the most important aspects of the online gaming experience is getting paid when you win. In this article, I point out a few of the “gotchas” that often slow down your payments, and suggest ways to modify your play and deposit patterns to get paid as quickly as possible.

Make it easy for the Online Casino.

Getting paid is an entirely different process for the player than playing the games. When you play, you are up against the house, and you should take advantage of every favorable rule they offer, such as taking full odds in craps or playing full pay video poker machines. When you cash out, however, you need to think of the casino as your partner. Anything you can do to make the cash out process easier will help speed your payment to your bank account.

The 10 Rules of Getting Paid.

1. Limit the number of credit cards you use.

2. Don’t share credit cards.

3. Use only credit cards that are registered under your name.

4. Limit yourself to one cash out per month.

5. Ask the casino which payment methods get paid fastest.

6. Be prepared to show proof of the original charge on a credit card statement.

7. Be prepared to show a photo ID, and don’t be surprised if the casino verifies whether it is legitimate.

8. When you play bonuses, play more than the absolute minimum.

9. When you call customer support and ask for status, be polite!

10. Be patient!

The 10 rules cover three main principles, 1) make your deposit using standard methods, without complications, 2) follow the posted cash out procedures, and 3) have respect for the casino and its employees.

Making Deposits.

When making your deposits, try to use a single credit card. By keeping your account simple, you make it easy for the casino’s fraud control group to approve your withdrawal. Many times, for small withdrawals, if you use a single credit card, casinos will waive the requirement for you to send in a faxed credit card authorization form.

Follow Posted Cash Out Procedures.

Most online casinos will require you to provide certain information about yourself before allowing you to cash out. Make sure that you understand what the casino requires, and send them the documentation all at once, instead of piecemeal. The better organized you are in providing the required documentation, the easier it will be for the casino to process and send your money.

Be Courteous.

Perhaps the most important part of getting paid is to have respect for the casino’s business, its employees and its policies. Don’t be a bonus abuser. Make sure that you play more then the minimum required by a bonus. Although you are still likely to be paid in either case, if you are not tagged by the casino as a bonus abuser, you are likely to have your payments processed faster. Additionally, remember that when you call customer service to complain about a missing payment, the customer service representative is almost never the same person that makes the decision to send the money. Be nice to the representative on the phone. If you make an ally with the support representative they will most likely champion your case to the payout department.

As the saying goes, you’ll catch more flies with honey than you will with ointment.

If you follow these guidelines, you’ll reduce the stress of waiting for your payment. Remember that in this part of the game, cooperation is the key. You’ve already beaten them!
