Shropshire Man to Go Heads-Up With Evander Holyfield An online poker player from Shropshire is preparing himself to climb into the ring with legendary heavyweight boxer Evander Holyfield tonight as the pair go heads-up at Poker in the Park.
Leif G. aka “GutShotRot” was the lucky winner of a summer-long “Beat The Champ” promotion on RealDealPoker.com and, after taking down the heavyweight final last weekend, he will now face the boxer in a one-off poker match in Leicester Square.
Having been taught seven-card stud and five-card draw by his mother at the age of eight, “GutShotRot” is no slouch when it comes to playing poker and the player has already won several thousand in tournaments both live around Europe and online.
Nevertheless, he’ll have his work cut out against RealDealPoker’s official ambassador and the player admitted he was prepared for a tough bout. “It’s going to be surreal playing against a world heavyweight champion. I mean, the guy knocked out Tyson!”
