Slot player scoops $7.2m jackpot
An American slots player has won $7.2m on a Lord of the Rings game.
The anonymous 73-year-old from Michigan scooped the massive jackpot on a penny slot machine, a product of manufacturers WMS Gaming, at the Palace Casino Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi.
The win is the largest ever on a WMS Wide-Area Progressive slot machine, beating the previous total of $4.9m claimed by a Reel Adventure player in January 2011.
WMS vice president of gaming operations Dean Ehrlich said: “The $7.2 million jackpot at the Palace Casino is a life-changing event for this player and his family, and it’s wonderful to see our largest jackpot ever paid by WMS hit with this incredible win!
“We could not be more excited for this player.”
