Odds on Galliano’s replacement
Since Christian Dior’s creative director John Galliano was let go from the fashion house for his anti-Semitic remarks, a whole new market has been opened regarding who will be his replacement.
Paddy Power have placed Riccardo Tisci as their favourite to be his successor at 5/4, as he has worked wonders on the Dior-owned Givenchy, and has expert knowledge on couture (a key must-have on the job specification.)
There are a number of names floating around the rumour mill, so Tisci may have some competition for the coveted position. Alber Elbaz, of Lanvin fame, is another one of the bookmaker’s favourites, with odds of 3/1.
Haider Ackermann is also a popular name on the French fashion scene, and has odds of 8/1. There are other names also in the equation to add to T, such as Nicolas Ghesquiere (creative director for Balenciaga) and Olivier Theyskens (creative director of Theory) who are both at 6/1, but one name which has very outside odds is Katie Price. The former glamour model has made Paddy Power’s list, but with odds of 1000/1.
