£1/£2 cash game, 4 players to the flop. Ad, Kh, 9d flop which I fire £50 into with a set of kings. 3s on turn and I move in the rest of my stack with 2 other players already all-in. I pray for a low black card on the river, it comes (4c) and I expect to rake in over £400 with the second nuts but wait, the French guy in the BB has a set of aces. Nice. He wins and I leave the table, cest la vie and FML.
Wow, that's pretty rough... sounds like the type of beat that would put me on life-tilt for several days afterwards, potentially costing me several hundred dollars online in the space of a lunchbreak. Still, I'm sure you'll get over it.
