With the two titans of the poker world, Full Tilt and PokerStars, perpetually slugging it out in this category, this time around it was the former who managed to land the telling blow as our readers deemed them to be Top Poker Site.
Undoubtedly one of the biggest and most recognisable brands in poker, Full Tilt have long established a business model to which all rival companies aspire. They have a great-looking client boasting slick graphics and software, a phenomenal array of cash games and tournaments incorporating all manner of variants and they boast the most established stable of professional players of any of the major operators.
However, even more fundamental than any of that, there’s just something inherently, well… cool… about the whole Full Tilt offering. Be it the unforgettably stylish and instantly recognisable monochrome adverts featuring poker deities like Phil Ivey and Gus Hansen, the phenomenal buzz that sweeps the online poker world following the announcement of any FTOPS or simply the prestigious, customisable avatars, there’s just something about the site that encapsulates everything online poker should be.
Of course, we could sit here all day and wax lyrical on the merits of the Full Tilt package, but to be honest, having earned this award fair and square we feel that they’re entitled to have their own say on matters.
